The MCSCD offers various types of soil testing such as N, P, K, Haney, & PFLA Tests. Costs will vary, please give us a call to discuss what information you're looking for and what fields you're wanting to test!
If you're looking to improve soil health, check the microbial activity in your soil, or just trying to save some money on fertilizer this year, soil testing has many benefits. Keeping up with your soil testing can help you give back to your soils in the long run, and is a great way to cut some costs.
Among the more common tests listed above, you can also test for water holding capacity, wet aggregate stability (shows the soil's ability to resist disturbances, store water, allow movement of air and water, and influence the growth and form of roots), total nutrient digestion (a "net-worth" of a soil's nutrients), and Regen Ag Lab Certified. Just to name a few!
Along with postage and types of tests, cost will fluctuate with acreage of the area tested too; 0-100 acres: $45, 101-200 acres: $60, and 201+ acres: $75.
